Hello all we are still ice fishing here in central Ontario. Lots of ice but the warm forecast may see it go quickly.

The first open water action in the area is approaching soon.

The 29th Orillia Perch Festival      April 16 - May 7, 2011

The narrows connecting Lake Simcoe and Lake Couchiching (Orillia Ontario) will see a congregation of literally millions of Perch for a few weeks.

The Perch Derby has thousands of dollars in prizes, with great Kids category prizes and activities. It is a fantastic way to introduce the little ones to fishing. The action is non-stop and keeps them interested and busy.
